Bright Lite Scholarship (OPEN)
According to 2023 study, about 89% of students from well-off families go to college compared to 64% of students from middle-class families, and 51% of students from low-income families.
In order to help our community, Bright Lite Scholarship will award one New York high school senior or undergraduate from a low-income family with a $500 scholarship to kickstart their studies.
ELIGIBILITY
- The student must be a resident of New York, regardless if they go to college out-of-state
- Must be currently enrolled at an undergraduate level OR an incoming freshman and must have accepted admission with plans of enrolling at 2-year college, 4-year college, or a trade/technical school
- Maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Must come from a low-income family in accordance with the 2024 Federal Poverty Guidelines
GUIDELINES
- The finalists will be announced a few weeks after the deadline
- The winner will receive an email asking for verification of eligibility such as proof of enrollment and a transcript, if unable to do so another winner will be selected
- The winner will be announced a month after the deadline and subsequently the scholarship fund will be released to the attended college
- The winner will also get an honorary mention on our website!
